Auction Highlights...

In this auction our focus is on a thing that we all know and love but rarely come across – that thing is MINTY VINYL and we have a stack of it courtesy of THE IAN CHAPPELL COLLECTION VINYL AUCTION on SATURDAY 30th JUNE.

This collection has to be seen to fully appreciate the quality and rarity of the records involved. Anybody who bought a sample of it in the May auction or even viewed the records will no doubt be back for more next Saturday. If you didn’t make it to the May auction then we strongly urge you not to miss out this time!

There are thousands of records up for grabs and we have not found any which fall below an Excellent grading with the vast majority being more like Near Mint. For the serious collector or dealer there is also an unused Loricraft Audio professional record cleaner in the sale which retails at £2200.

There really is something for all tastes from the Beatles through to Led Zep but it is the Folk collectors out there who will really be spoilt for choice. We have around 30 job lots (of around 100 records in each lot) of Folk and related music which will be perfect for Folk collectors or ideal for the dealers with the discerning eye who will see the true market value of these lots.

On a Rock & Pop level highlights include a stunning copy of Led Zeppelin 1 with the turquoise text (along with all the other Led Zep rarities), a complete Who collection to include Who Sell Out (complete with the poster), My Generation and Live at Leeds (black text), complete Beatles collection (with multiples) including black & gold PPM & Let It Be box along with complete (or near complete) collections of 1st pressings (and multiples) from the likes of The Small Faces, The Kinks, Cream, The Rolling Stones, Traffic, John Martyn, The Pretty Things, Bob Dylan, Buddy Holly, Roy Orbison, Jethro Tull, Hendrix, The Troggs Free, The Hollies, Spencer Davis and all the other classic groups and male/female vocalists from the 60’s.

There are a multitude of Folk rarities on offer with highlights to include Vashti Bunyan’s Just Another Diamond Day, 1st press copies of all of Nick Drake’s albums, Mushroom – Early One Morning, 2 x C.O.B rarities (Spirit of Love and Moyshe McStiff), 2 x Anne Briggs (Time Has Come & Self Titled LPs), all the 1st press LPs of both Shirley Collins and Davy Graham, Marc Brierley – Welcome to the Citadel, Crooked Oak – From Little Acorns Grow, Jackson C Frank – Self Titled, Mandy Morton and The Spriguns – Magic Lady, 2 x Dr Strangely Strange (Kip Of Serene & Heavy Petting), Mac Murrough – Self Titled and other, 2 x The Trees (Garden of Delaney and On The Shore), Stone Angel along with complete collections from Fairport Convention, Sandy Denny and many other Folk legends.

Not content with owning all the original rarities mentioned above the collection also include 180g re-issues which in some cases are very rare themselves.

It may seem like I have listed a lot but there is so much more available – best way to find out more is to view our online catalogue via www.the-saleroom.com or come down to our viewing days which will be Friday 22nd June and also next Thursday 28th, Friday 29th and on the morning of the sale, Saturday 30th. The sale will start at 11am prompt.

That’s it for now but we hope to see you all on either the viewing days or sale day itself. If you cannot make it but have any questions prior to bidding online just let us know.

Thanks and hope to see you on the day
Paul
