January 30 2019
Another set of incredible results in our recently held Glam Rock auction, with the Soul, Jazz and Blues vinyl sale on the same day also beating all estimates with bidders in the room, on the phone and online representing a truly global market. Highlights include: an unheard David Bowie cassette tape from circa 1960s reaching £10,450, a fierce bidding war for a single sided acetate of the self-titled David Bowie LP (Space Oddity) achieving £14,145 against a £5000 - £7000 estimate, a letter with a circa 1960s David Bowie signature hitting £3690 against a £800-1000 estimate, a fantastic archive of Queen concert photographs taking £1230 from a £300-£500 estimate, a set of Queen fan club materials at £836 from a £60-£100 estimate and a set of Mick Ronson memorabilia taking £675 from a £80 – £120 estimate.
Auctioneer Paul says: “The excellent results reflect the quality of consignments we are receiving from vendors coupled with our continuously expanding network of worldwide buyers. Both vendors and buyers know they can rely on us for accurate descriptions, realistic valuations and solid pre and post-sale service and as a result the vast majority come back time and time again. With a strong start to 2019 and some great auctions in the pipeline, we are looking forward to seeing what the rest of 2019 brings.”
