Sterling Results at Omega Auctions 2 Day Vinyl and Music Memorabilia Auction

David Bowie, Elvis Presley and Punk pioneers stole the show with big auction results at our most recent two day sale of vinyl and music memorabilia, which took place here at our Newton Le Willows saleroom and online on May 21st/22nd.

Notable memorabilia results included: a rare master tape reel which included early mixes of David Bowie’s ‘Aladdin Sane’ which sold for £24,000 against a £5,000 - £8,000 estimate, another reel featuring unreleased 1967 David Bowie demos which achieved £19,200 from a £5,000 - £8,000 estimate, a rare set of ‘Space Oddity’ promotional flats selling at £1,320  from a £400-£600 estimate. Posters excelled again with a Sex Pistols Dundee Caird Hall poster making £5,040, a poster for Pink Floyd at Hastings Pier taking £3,600 from an estimate of £1,000 - £2,000, a Clash London Calling poster selling at £2,400 from a £500 - £700, a rare, early Genesis poster hitting £1,440 from a £300 - £500 estimate.

In the vinyl sale we saw excellent results for Metal, Punk, Indie and New Wave, a notable market trend that is clearly here to stay. Results included: a pristine copy of ‘The Wailing Wailers’ selling at £3,360 from a £1,000 - £2,000 estimate, a beautiful example of Elvis Presley – Rock and Roll taking  £2,880 off a £800 - £1,200, a superb copy of Nick Drake’s Five Leaves Left selling at £1,560. Punk, indie and metal job lots sold particularly well, as did collection of classical CDs.
